Important Updates: CWSA Policies, Rules & Discipline Changes

Dear Members,

We have recently completed updates across several CWSA policies, the Rules and Regulations and our Discipline Code. Below is a summary of the key areas where changes have been made:

Extreme Weather Policies

• Major updates have been made to the Air Quality Policy to provide clearer guidance and decision-making criteria during poor air conditions.

Financial Policies

• Refund Policy (new)
• Late Payment Policy (new)
• Returned Payments Policy (replaces NSF Policy)

Reschedule Policy

• Policy has been updated to improve clarity, consistency, and process expectations for rescheduling requests, and to provide clearer guidance on what happens when a game is cancelled.

Rules & Regulations

• Minor rule updates and clarifications have been made across several areas.

• KEY RULE CHANGE: Players may now present a photo of their CWSA ID card along with government-issued photo ID to be eligible to play.
  (Previously, only the physical ID card was accepted.)

  This change is intended only as a contingency option when a player forgets their physical ID card, and is not intended to replace the requirement to carry the physical card. Players are still expected to bring their physical ID card to all games and are encouraged to ensure they have an updated card to avoid any issues on game day.

  If a photo of an ID card is used, the name must match exactly across the ID card, government-issued photo ID, and the game sheet. Referees will be instructed not to permit participation if there is not a match across all three documents.

Discipline Code

• Minor updates and clarifications have been made to improve consistency. No major changes to the discipline process.
