Outdoor 2026 Senior Provincials Information

Alignment

The draft alignments will be posted after registration closes.

Over 30 Classics Major Format - please contact the office prior to the team registration deadline if you will be declaring as an O30CM team for Outdoor 2026.

The alignment is based on a promotion/relegation system. Existing CWSA teams will be placed in a division based on the final standings from the Outdoor 2025 season.
New teams joining the CWSA will be placed at a division level deemed most appropriate by the CWSA, in consultation with the team and subject to space availability. Where possible, teams will be placed at a competitive level that aligns with their skill and experience.
In the event of a vacancy due to the withdrawal of an established team, the CWSA will first offer the vacancy to the next placed team from the previous season in the next lowest division. If the next placed team declines to move up, the CWSA may fill the vacancy with:
- a. Another team from the same or lower division, or
- b. A new team requesting higher placement at the time of registration

Age Groups

Open - players of any age may register in this age group (minimum age to register with the CWSA is 16)

Program: 11v11 or 8v8

Levels of play: ALL (League 1, Major, Premier, Divisions 1-6)

Over 30 - players must be at least 30 at the time of play. For provincial play, players must have attained their 30th birthday prior to Jan 1, 2025

Program: 11v11 or 8v8

Levels of play: Classics Major (equivalent to Division 1 or higher), Classics Premier (equivalent to Division 2), O30 - tier 3 (equivalent to division 3 or 4)

Over 40 - players must be at least 40 at the time of play

Program: 11v11 or 8v8

Levels of play: Tier 1, Tier 2, Tier 3

Over 50 - players must be at least 50 at the time of play

Program: 11v11 or 8v8

Levels of play: any

Please note: a division or age group must have a minimum of 5 teams in order to form a viable division. If the minimum number of teams is not met the league will offer the teams an alternative registration option or a refund of the deposit amount paid.

Fees

Registration Deposit: $1,000

The draft schedule of fees will be posted when team registration opens. Final fees will be posted with the final alignments and may be adjusted based on the final number of teams and games per division.

Payment Deadlines:

Upon Registration - Deposit due

Player Fees: Alberta Soccer Annual Player Membership Fee (due upon registration for all players)

$39+gst (valid April 1, 2026 - March 31, 2027)

Registration will be capped to the first 48 teams

Games may be scheduled or re-scheduled to non-primary days when needed.

Number of games may be adjusted after completion of the final alignment, and is based on the number of teams in each division.Games may be scheduled in Airdrie/Chestermere/Cochrane/Okotoks if a team based there is in your division and has requested their home games be played at their home facility.

Players can play for ONE team in EACH program.
Ex: a player can register to one 11v11 team AND one 8v8 team.
